MANILA — The Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity is set to celebrate outstanding students and professionals in an awards ceremony this Friday, August 29. The event, held at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City, will recognize 20 law scholars, five MBA fellows, and winners of a dissertation contest.

Early in the program, the foundation will present cash prizes, plaques, and certificates to the awardees. The prestigious ceremony will be graced by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos as a special guest, alongside Ayala Corporation Vice Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala, retired Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban, and the chairmen of the boards of judges for the foundation’s scholastic programs, sources said.

Honoring Academic Excellence and Core Values

Officials reported that the Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity’s annual ceremony aims to recognize students who not only excel academically but also embody the foundation’s ideals. These scholars demonstrate the potential to advance the foundation’s philosophy in their future careers and professions.

In partnership with the Tan Yan Kee Foundation, the foundation will award scholarships of P250,000 each to third-year law students from various universities nationwide. Community members listed the recipients as follows:

Fellowship Grants for Future Leaders

The foundation will also grant fellowship awards worth P500,000 each in collaboration with the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation through its foundation. The recipients of these prestigious fellowships include:

  • Carl Balagtas (University of the Philippines)
  • Aingel Domingo (Ateneo de Manila University)
  • Giselle Geronimo (Asian Institute of Management)
  • Caroline So (Asian Institute of Management)

Recognizing Dissertation Excellence

Additionally, the Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity will honor winners of its Dissertation Writing contest, conducted in partnership with Ayala Corporation. The top prizes are awarded as follows:

  • Isabelle Ginez (Ateneo de Manila University) – First prize of P320,000
  • Laurice Sy (Ateneo de Manila University) – Second prize of P220,000
  • Chaira Ferran (De La Salle Lipa), Jadel Gines (Ateneo de Manila University), and Kristine Kalalo (Ateneo de Manila University) – Third prize of P120,000 each

Meanwhile, the four finalists will receive P20,000 each. They are Susanna Gruyal (University of the Philippines), Christine Lopez (University of Santo Tomas), Jose Vilchez (University of the Philippines), and Darren Zamudio (Far Eastern University), local leaders noted.

Foundation’s Mission and Vision

Established in 2011, the Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity aims to develop programs that support the government and business sectors to promote inclusive growth and sustainable expansion. Its founding vision is to uphold the core judicial philosophy of retired Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban — to safeguard liberty and nurture prosperity under the rule of law, officials reported.

The foundation’s ongoing efforts continue to inspire the next generation of leaders committed to these ideals.
