The victims in the Aklan crash were identified as Dr. Beonify dela Cruz Opinion, a teacher at Aklan State University’s New Washington campus, Donny Peralta, and Wilson Algarne, a tricycle driver. According to reports, their tricycle was struck and dragged by a tanker truck while navigating a curved section of the road.

Closed-circuit television footage revealed that the van abruptly crossed lanes before the impact. The bus subsequently crashed into a nearby house, but fortunately, no one inside the residence was injured.
Injuries and Immediate Response
Authorities confirmed that the van driver died instantly at the scene. Meanwhile, eleven passengers aboard the bus sustained injuries of varying severity and were rushed to medical facilities for treatment.
Local experts emphasize the dangers of fatigue and loss of control on curved roads, urging drivers to remain vigilant and adhere to safety rules to prevent such incidents. Community leaders said these tragic events highlight the need for stricter road safety measures in the region.
