Four Drug Suspects Nabbed in Rizal and Batangas
Early Tuesday morning, law enforcement authorities arrested four drug suspects, seizing over P1.7 million worth of shabu in coordinated buy-bust operations across Rizal and Batangas provinces. Officials reported that these efforts targeted key figures in the illegal drug trade.
Rizal Operation Yields Large Meth Seizure
According to the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A), anti-drug operatives apprehended two suspects identified as “Michael” and “John-John” at 2:20 a.m. in Barangay Geronimo, Rodriguez, Rizal. The duo allegedly sold P1,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer during the sting.
Authorities recovered five heat-sealed sachets and two knot-tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu. The combined weight of the drugs reached 210 grams, with a street value estimated at approximately P1,428,000 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s valuation.
Law enforcement classified Michael as a high-value individual (HVI) on the drug watchlist, indicating his significant role as a financier, trafficker, or drug group member. John-John, meanwhile, was identified as a street-level pusher. This classification helps prioritize targets in the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
Batangas Police Arrest Two High-Value Drug Suspects
Meanwhile, in Batangas City, police arrested two more suspects, “Jonathan” and “Joel,” in Barangay Santa Clara around 1:28 a.m. These individuals were also tagged as HVIs, signaling their involvement in major drug operations.
Officers seized six plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams. The estimated market value of the confiscated drugs was about P340,000. This arrest complements ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks in the region.
Authorities Continue Investigation
Following these arrests, police units in both Rizal and Batangas are conducting thorough follow-up investigations to trace the origins and supply chains of the illegal drugs. These efforts aim to disrupt the broader drug syndicates operating in the provinces.
All four suspects remain in police custody and are facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Community members expressed hope that these arrests will weaken the grip of illegal drugs in their localities.
