Four Hurt in Separate Hacking Incidents in Camarines Sur
Four men were injured in separate hacking incidents in different towns in Camarines Sur on Thursday night, local officials reported. These violent confrontations disrupted the peace in the province and left victims hospitalized.
Col. Virgilio Olalia, head of the Camarines Sur police, detailed the first incident around 6 p.m. in Barangay Del Socorro, Minalabac town. A 47-year-old man known as “Ilyo” was harvesting copra on his land when he was attacked by a 56-year-old man called “Tante.” The conflict stemmed from a land dispute.
Despite sustaining a wound on his right hand, Ilyo fought back and managed to injure Tante on the left hand. Both men were immediately taken to a hospital in Naga City for medical treatment.
Sibling Clash in Lagonoy Town
In Lagonoy town, another violent incident occurred in Barangay Olas, also around 6 p.m. A man named “Enyong” was assaulted by his younger brother “Podong.” According to initial investigations, the attack happened while Enyong was speaking with his son.
Podong first struck Enyong with a piece of wood, then hacked him when he fell. Enyong’s son retaliated by throwing a large stone that hit Podong on the head. Enyong escaped the scene, while police arrested Podong.
Marriage Proposal Ends in Violence in Caramoan
A third incident took place in Caramoan town at about 9:30 p.m. in Barangay Belen. A man known as “Ely” was hacked by “Manong,” his girlfriend’s father. Police chief Captain Junel Cea reported that Ely had gone to Manong’s home to ask permission to marry his daughter.
The conversation quickly escalated into a heated argument. Manong rejected the proposal, explaining that Ely already had children from a previous partner. This rejection triggered the violent attack, leaving Ely with serious wounds on his neck and shoulder. He was rushed to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
Authorities Respond to Multiple Attacks
These four separate hacking incidents highlight ongoing tensions in Camarines Sur involving family disputes and land conflicts. Local police continue to investigate to prevent further violence.
