The blaze began around 1:35 p.m. and escalated to a second alarm by 1:54 p.m. Firefighters managed to fully extinguish the flames by 4 p.m. Unfortunately, the fire quickly spread to about 30 nearby homes, most of which were constructed from light materials.
As a result, approximately 70 families, or around 210 individuals, were displaced due to the damage sustained. Community leaders have expressed concern over the extent of the destruction and the immediate needs of those affected.
