Four individuals wounded in shooting in Cotabato City on Election Eve
On the evening before Election Day, Sunday, four people were wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Rosario Heights X, Cotabato City. The Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Division (6ID) confirmed the incident on Monday.
The commotion began around 10:50 p.m. between supporters of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) and Serbisyong Inklusibo, Alyansang Progresibo (SIAP) political parties. This confrontation escalated quickly, leading to gunfire.
Among those injured was a police corporal. Authorities are now conducting pursuit operations to apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting.
Residents and voters in the area have been urged to remain calm and report any suspicious activities as security forces intensify their presence ahead of Election Day.
