Government Prioritizes Filipinos’ Health with New Patient Transport Vehicles
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently emphasized the government’s dedication to improving the health of Filipinos. During the ceremonial turnover of patient transport vehicles (PTVs) in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, he reinforced the promise to deliver at least one PTV to each of the country’s 1,642 local government units within the year.
“You can be assured that the strength and health of our fellow Filipinos is the most important of all, and we—the government—are here to ensure that all the assistance we can provide to care for our people is being delivered,” the President declared in Filipino.
Delivery of Patient Transport Vehicles Across Key Regions
In this recent distribution, 106 patient transport vehicles were handed over to cities and municipalities across Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Lanao del Sur, and Isabela City in Basilan. These vehicles are part of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program, designed to enhance emergency medical response in local communities.
Each patient transport vehicle comes fully equipped with vital medical tools such as stretchers, oxygen tanks, blood pressure monitors, and other essential supplies. This ensures that patients receive timely and efficient care during transport.
Improving Connectivity and Health Services
Prior to the turnover event, the President also visited Barangay Camul in Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte, where Starlink internet devices were distributed to local schools. This move aims to provide reliable internet connectivity, further supporting education and health services in remote areas.
Local leaders noted that these initiatives reflect a broader government commitment to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and community support. By enhancing both medical transport and communication systems, the administration seeks to uplift the overall well-being of Filipinos nationwide.
