Governor Guico Commits to Healthcare Development
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Governor Ramon V. Guico III expressed his gratitude to the people of Pangasinan for entrusting him with a fresh mandate in the recent elections. He emphasized his dedication to advancing healthcare, highlighting the importance of the Guiconsulta program as a key part of his administration’s efforts.
“I’d like to thank the people who voted for me. For the people who believe in the direction of the province. Remember as a leader and as a governor, I have gambled so to speak on focusing on big impact projects that will be enjoyed by many generations to come here in Pangasinan,” Guico said.
He called on all stakeholders, especially those involved in healthcare, to unite in protecting the wellbeing of the community. “Let us not toy with the lives of the people especially those that involve healthcare,” he stressed. He further reiterated that health transcends politics, religion, beliefs, and personal orientation.
The Future of Healthcare in Pangasinan
Governor Guico addressed challenges faced by the Guiconsulta program, which supports the national PhilHealth Konsulta initiative. Despite misinformation during the campaign, the program continues to receive strong backing from the provincial government.
He also announced plans to modernize all 14 government-run hospitals in Pangasinan and revealed intentions to establish specialty hospitals to better serve the community’s needs.
“This is a big challenge for all of us, it seems this is impossible but this is very, very possible,” he affirmed, encouraging cooperation and optimism among local leaders and health professionals.
The governor’s vision for healthcare aims to create sustainable and impactful improvements that will benefit current and future generations, ensuring that the province’s health services keep pace with growing demands.
