Heavy Rain to Persist Over Luzon Including Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers will continue to drench Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Wednesday due to the southwest monsoon, locally called the habagat, sources said. This weather pattern is expected to bring widespread rains and cloudy skies across many provinces.
According to a weather specialist, the southwest monsoon will maintain cloudy conditions with heavy rainfall particularly affecting parts of northern Luzon. Areas under alert include the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, and Benguet, where heavy rains are likely to occur.
Areas Facing Light to Moderate Rains
The same weather system will also cause light to moderate rains over Metro Manila, the remainder of the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and Rizal, the specialist added. “To our countrymen in the affected areas, wherever you go today, don’t forget to bring an umbrella,” she advised.
Meanwhile, other parts of Luzon can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.
Fair Weather in Visayas and Mindanao
In contrast, the Visayas and Mindanao regions will experience generally fair weather, except for localized thunderstorms that may bring isolated rain showers in some areas. No tropical cyclones or low-pressure systems are currently being tracked inside or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Residents are urged to stay updated on weather conditions and prepare accordingly for the persistent rains over Luzon including Metro Manila. For more news and updates on weather, visit Filipinokami.com.
