Southwest Monsoon Brings Rain to Luzon Monday
Several areas across Luzon are set to experience rain on Monday, July 28, as the southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, intensifies. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the southwest monsoon will bring wet weather to many parts of Luzon.
“We can see that a big portion of Luzon is possible to experience rains, particularly in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Laguna, Batangas, Cavite, Rizal, and Mimaropa due to the southwest monsoon,” a weather specialist said during the afternoon forecast.
Localized Thunderstorms and Fair Weather Conditions
Meanwhile, other parts of Luzon, including Quezon Province and the Bicol Region, are expected to have generally fair weather. However, the possibility of localized thunderstorms remains.
In the Visayas and Mindanao regions, fair weather will mostly continue, but scattered thunderstorms may occur in isolated areas. Authorities have confirmed that no gale warnings are currently issued for any coastal waters nationwide.
