Hindi dapat nabibili ang boto: Nadine Lustre’s Open Letter to Voters
Actress Nadine Lustre recently shared an open letter on her Instagram page addressing Filipino voters ahead of the election on Monday, May 12. She urged everyone to remember that hindi dapat nabibili ang boto as she reflected on the power of each vote to bring real change to the country.
In her heartfelt message, Nadine expressed hope that this election will mark a turning point. She believes that if Filipinos unite, their combined votes can steer the nation toward a better future. The actress posted a video of herself sitting in a mountainous area, gazing into the distance, symbolizing hope and contemplation.
The Power of One Vote
She emphasized that this is a rare chance and pleaded, “Huwag sana nating sayangin.”
She implored voters to think carefully about their choices, warning against being swayed merely by smooth words, flashy campaign ads, or charismatic candidates. Hindi patas,” she shared.
Assessing True Leadership
Nadine called on everyone to examine candidates’ track records closely. She stressed the importance of choosing leaders who genuinely serve the people, not just those who try to appear appealing for votes.
Despite differing political views, Nadine reminded everyone that they belong to one nation with a shared future. “Isang bayan ang kinabibilangan natin, Iisang kinabukasan ang hinuhubog natin ngayon,” she said.
Empathy for the Less Fortunate
The actress also expressed hope that those living comfortably amid rising prices would remember the struggles of many hardworking Filipinos who have no voice.
She envisioned a Philippines that belongs to everyone—not just the wealthy but also those quietly fighting daily to survive.
Starting Change with One Vote
Her message ended with a call to action: “Magsimula tayo sa isang boto. Nadine hopes that the new dawn will come not by chance but because everyone chose to fight for a better present and future.
As of this writing, Nadine’s post has touched over 429,000 people and sparked more than 3,200 comments, showing how deeply her message resonates with Filipinos nationwide.
