Hot Weather Conditions Forecast Across Philippines Sunday
Hot weather conditions are expected to continue in most parts of the Philippines on Sunday, August 3, local sources said. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Saturday afternoon that temperatures will remain high nationwide.
According to a weather specialist, Metro Manila will experience temperatures ranging from 27°C to 31°C on Sunday. This forecast signals that the city will sizzle under mostly clear skies.
Regional Weather Outlook
Aside from Metro Manila, the following areas are projected to have partly to mostly cloudy skies with minimal chances of rain:
- Central Luzon
- Southern Luzon
- Visayas
- Mindanao
“If we do have rains, it will be due to what we call localized thunderstorms. If it rains, it will be short-lived—minutes to an hour. And if it lasts for two hours, that is already long,” a local weather expert explained.
He added, “This means we can now do laundry and we are already experiencing improved weather conditions.” This phrase, used by the meteorological agency, indicates that rainfall will be lighter compared to previous days.
Monsoon and Rainfall Details
The southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, currently influences only select parts of Northern Luzon, including the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and Cagayan Valley. Despite its presence, rain chances remain low in these areas.
However, Batanes province is an exception, as it is expected to have cloudy skies with a high likelihood of rain showers on Sunday.
Importantly, no tropical cyclones or low-pressure areas are being monitored within or near the Philippine area of responsibility at this time. Residents can anticipate stable weather but should stay alert for sudden localized thunderstorms.
