House of Representatives Nears Full Readiness for 2025 Sona
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives is about 90 to 95 percent ready for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona) scheduled on July 28. Officials confirmed that most preparations are well underway, ensuring a smooth event next week.
During a press briefing at the Batasang Pambansa complex, House spokesperson Princess Abante stated that the majority of arrangements have been finalized. These were thoroughly discussed in the final coordination meeting held recently among representatives from the House, the Senate, and Malacañang Palace.
Final Coordination Meeting Confirms Progress
“We are a week away from the State of the Nation Address, and the House of Representatives conducted its last coordination meeting to finalize the remaining details for next week’s Sona,” Abante said. “I’m happy to report that most of the preparations are already completed.”
She added, “From what I heard earlier, maybe we are 90, 95 percent prepared and ready. We are just leaving room for adjustments, such as weather contingencies and other last-minute concerns. But yes, we are very much prepared for the Sona next week.”
No Plans to Postpone Physical Gathering
Abante also clarified that there are currently no talks about postponing the physical gathering due to weather conditions. Despite recent heavy rains brought on by the southwest monsoon, officials remain optimistic about holding the event as scheduled.
Earlier announcements from both the House of Representatives and Malacañang noted work suspensions due to the inclement weather. However, these do not affect the planning and readiness for the Sona.
As the date approaches, all eyes remain on the House to deliver a well-organized State of the Nation Address that is both safe and efficient.
