ILLIT Unleashes Inner Magic in Brand Film for Third Mini-Album Bomb
On June 5, K-pop girl group ILLIT unveiled a captivating brand film for their upcoming third mini-album bomb. This brand film, shared on a major music label’s YouTube channel, reveals ILLIT’s bold and candid identity, using the exact four-word keyphrase to inspire positivity and uplift spirits worldwide.
The film doubles as a music video for bomb’s B-side track, “little monster.” The song cleverly uses monsters as metaphors for personal struggles such as anxiety, depression, and sadness. The lyrics describe overcoming these inner monsters, creating a message that resonates deeply with listeners.
Visual Storytelling Brings little monster to Life
ILLIT’s vocals bring a light, joyful touch that stays with the audience long after listening. The brand film visually interprets the playful metaphor of “little monster” with striking imagery and a whimsical tone. It begins with the group trapped behind enclosing walls, symbolizing mental blockades. As they awaken, they consume the jelly-like monsters, breaking free from their confines.
The girls then soar into the sky, transforming into magical beings. This magic symbolizes believing in their own potential and strength. Their bold charm shines as they confront negativity head-on, stepping back into reality with newfound courage and passion.
Minju’s powerful closing line, “Remember the magic inside you,” resonates as she confidently embraces limitless possibilities ahead.
ILLIT’s Record-Breaking Streaming Success
ILLIT’s debut single “Magnetic” hit a major milestone by surpassing 600 million streams on a popular music platform on May 25. This achievement makes it the fastest debut song by a K-pop group to reach such numbers, sources said. Shortly after, their track “Cherish (My Love)” from the second album crossed 100 million streams on May 29, marking their third song to do so.
Together, these hits have brought ILLIT’s total streams close to 1.2 billion, highlighting their rapid rise in the music world.
The much-anticipated mini-album bomb is scheduled for release at 6 p.m. KST (5 p.m. Philippine time) on June 16.
