Alimodian, Iloilo — In a heartfelt tribute to the late Pope Francis, the Parish of Saint Thomas of Villanova has unveiled a moving memorial exhibit honoring the life and legacy of a pontiff revered for his humility, compassion, and deep love for the marginalized.
Located at a side altar of the historic parish church, the exhibit offers parishioners and visitors a sacred space for reflection, prayer, and gratitude for the life of the late pontiff.
Curated by the parish’s social communications team, the display features personal memorabilia from parishioners whose lives were touched by Pope Francis’ papacy. Highlights include:
A rosary personally sent by Pope Francis to a local resident
Certificates of papal blessings granted over the years
A curated collection of magazines and publications chronicling his journey from Argentina to the Vatican
“This display not only commemorates Pope Francis’ life,” the parish said in a statement, “but invites quiet contemplation of the values he stood for—simplicity, mercy, and service to the poor.”
The exhibit is open to the public until April 27, 2025, and the faithful are encouraged to visit, offer prayers, reflect on the Pope’s teachings, and leave candles or floral tributes as gestures of personal reverence.
The parish hopes the tribute serves as a spiritual reminder of Pope Francis’ enduring call to live the Gospel with courage, love, and joy, continuing his mission to uplift the poor and promote compassion in action.
