Improving Weather Conditions in Metro Manila and Luzon
Improving weather conditions were observed over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon on Thursday, sources said. Residents can expect clearer skies and warmer temperatures throughout the day.
According to weather experts, the four-word keyphrase improving weather conditions applies to several key regions. These include Metro Manila, the Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.
Regions Experiencing Better Weather
The areas enjoying better weather are Metro Manila; the Bicol Region; Calabarzon, which covers Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon; and Mimaropa, including Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez shared, “So, we can also expect hot and humid afternoons, with a high chance of rain, particularly in the late afternoon and evening.”
Effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat)
Although the southwest monsoon, locally called the habagat, still lingers across the country, its rainfall impact has lessened considerably. However, it will continue to bring occasional rains, especially in northern parts such as Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will likely experience cloudy skies with a high chance of rain showers, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
Weather Outlook for Other Regions
Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao are expected to have generally clear weather. However, these areas may still see a high chance of rain during the afternoon and evening hours, Dominguez added.
No tropical cyclones or low-pressure areas are currently being tracked within or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility, local experts noted.
