MANILA, Philippines — Filipino actor Iñigo Pascual shared his experience working alongside Hollywood legend Susan Sarandon in the Fox TV drama “Monarch,” where he played the role of Ace Grayson, his debut character in an international production.
Speaking on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Iñigo admitted he was extremely nervous during his first days on set.
“I was nervous as heck,” he said. “It was my first time filming in the U.S., and I didn’t have a handler or road manager — I had to do everything on my own.”
A Star-Studded Cast and a Life-Changing Role
“Monarch,” a country music drama, follows the story of the Roman family’s rise and struggle to maintain their dynasty. Iñigo acted alongside Anna Friel, Trace Adkins, Joshua Sasse, and Susan Sarandon, who played Dottie Cantrell Roman.
Despite the high-caliber cast, Iñigo said the atmosphere on set was warm and supportive.
“Everyone was so nice. They treated me like family, the same way we do here in the Philippines,” he shared.
Hollywood Dreams and a New Lead Role in 2025
When asked about compensation, Iñigo smiled and said, “Hollywood payment kumbaga,” confirming it was “good.”
He also teased his next U.S. project, revealing he’ll play the lead role in an upcoming 2025 film.
“I’m doing another film in the States where I’m going to be the lead… I’m excited,” he said, though he kept further details under wraps.
Back Home, Iñigo Stars in ‘Fatherland’
In the Philippines, Iñigo stars in Joel Lamangan’s new patriotic drama “Fatherland,” alongside Allen Dizon, Richard Yap, and others. The film is now showing in cinemas.
