Inigo Pascual Opens Up About His US Auditions Challenges

Inigo Pascual Shares Challenges of US Auditions

Young Filipino actor Inigo Pascual, known for his role in the American musical drama “Monarch,” remains deeply connected to his roots despite working internationally. He recently opened up about the difficulties he faces during auditions abroad, emphasizing the competitive nature of the US entertainment industry.

In a recent interview at a press event in Quezon City, Inigo discussed his journey with US auditions. He said, “Whenever I say auditions, hindi po ibig sabihin nun lagi kang natatanggap. And for me, I’m happy that I get to do the auditions. And mahirap. Mahirap po talaga. Imagine niyo po, kung dito sa Philippines mahirap nang maging artista, imagine niyo sa America. Mas madami kang makakalaban and mas marami silang options.” This highlights that while auditioning does not guarantee landing roles, the experience itself is valuable to him.

Balancing Career Between Two Countries

Despite pursuing opportunities in the United States, Inigo firmly considers the Philippines his home. He stated, “When I say I do a lot of auditions, it means I’m just taking my chances and seeing how far I can go in my career in the States. Pero sa akin, hindi ibig sabihin nun na doon lang yung magiging gusto kong career. I still want to do my career out here in the Philippines.”

He added, “This is home to me. No matter what projects I get to do in another place, in another country, ito pa rin ‘yung bahay ko.” His words reflect a strong commitment to his Filipino roots despite global ambitions.

Guidance from Family and Artistic Growth

Inigo also revealed how he draws inspiration and advice from his father, a well-known actor. “Lagi ako nagtatanong kay Papa lalo na dun sa mga heavy drama scenes na kailangan ko talaga ibigay ang todo. Nagtatanong ako sa kanya kung ano bang dapat kong isipin—kung yung personal pain ko ba or should I be the character? And my dad says, ‘Whatever works for you and whatever works in that situation,’” he shared.

This mentorship plays a crucial role in helping him deliver powerful performances, as seen in his recent work in a locally produced drama film.

Expanding Ventures in Music and Business

Aside from acting, Inigo continues to nurture his music career. After releasing his 2024 album, The Heartbreak Trilogy, he is currently writing new songs. “Ngayon nasa proseso po ako na gumagawa po ako ng mga kanta. And this year, I’m doing something different with my music. I think I’m going to go back to my roots and go back to the sound of ‘Dahil Sa’yo.’ So abangan po natin yan,” he revealed.

Moreover, Inigo is exploring entrepreneurship. He shared plans to launch a new brand focused on hygiene products and expand his rug design business. These ventures show his diverse interests beyond entertainment.

Inigo Pascual’s story exemplifies the challenges and opportunities for Filipino artists navigating careers both locally and internationally, always with a heartfelt connection to their homeland.
