Inmates in Talisay City Cast Votes in Eleksyon 2025
Inmates in Talisay City began casting their votes early Monday morning as part of the special voting process. A total of 793 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Talisay City are expected to participate.
Among these voters, 695 are male, while 98 are female—the highest number of PDLs able to vote in this jail facility. The Talisay City BJMP is known for having one of the largest groups of PDL voters in Cebu Province, which overall has more than 3,000 PDL voters.
Special Voting Procedures and Security Measures
Special voting started shortly after 6 a.m. and is scheduled to end by 1 p.m. During the process, the jail is placed under red alert to ensure strict security. According to Inspector Nelver Lagutin, spokesperson of the Talisay City BJMP Male Dormitory, no personnel are allowed to leave the area while voting is ongoing to maintain order.
After the inmates finish voting, BJMP personnel will then cast their ballots. This setup helps guarantee a smooth and secure election process inside the facility.
