Jehovah’s Witnesses Host Three-Day Conventions Across Philippines
Since May 23, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been transforming sports arenas and conference halls into expansive Bible classrooms every weekend in 90 cities nationwide. These gatherings, known as “three-day conventions,” are drawing thousands of attendees eager to explore spiritual lessons through engaging presentations.
The three-day conventions are free and open to the public, featuring 50 video presentations focused on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. These materials, based on Gospel accounts, highlight Jesus’ teachings of love, compassion, and generosity, according to local spokesperson Normito Zapata Jr. The events will continue until September 7, 2025.
Commitment to Accuracy and Volunteer Support
Zapata emphasized the extensive research and resources invested to ensure the videos, photos, and publications used during the conventions are accurate and authentic. This dedication underscores the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ commitment to delivering trustworthy biblical education.
On a recent Saturday, more than 12,000 attendees gathered at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City to participate in talks delivered in Filipino. Programs in English and Cebuano are also scheduled at the same venue from August 22 to 24. Although the venue’s management provided staff, the Jehovah’s Witnesses trained 1,100 volunteers to maintain order, cleanliness, and ensure the safety of all attendees, especially the elderly, persons with disabilities, and children.
Community Outreach and Global Participation
Known for their heartfelt outreach, Jehovah’s Witnesses launched a three-week door-to-door campaign inviting communities to join the conventions. These events offer scriptural and practical advice tailored for parents, couples, children, and those facing health challenges, according to Zapata.
Globally, nearly 11 million people attended more than 6,000 Jehovah’s Witness conventions in 2024, reflecting the movement’s widespread appeal and dedication to spiritual education.
