Kiko Pangilinan Dedicates Victory to Farmers Workers Parents

Kiko Pangilinan Honors Farmers, Workers, and Parents in Victory

Senator-elect Kiko Pangilinan has dedicated his recent election victory to some of society’s most overlooked groups. The keyphrase “farmers workers parents” reflects his commitment to these sectors, which he emphasized in a message delivered during his absence.

Pangilinan missed the formal proclamation at the Manila Hotel on May 17 as he was attending his daughter Frankie’s graduation in the United States. Despite this, he conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the farmers, workers, solo parents, and all parents striving to build a better future for their children.

“Laban natin ito” he declared, underscoring the collective nature of their struggle and shared hopes.

Advocating for Mindanao and Food Security

The senator-elect also stressed the importance of Mindanao, not just as the nation’s food basket but as a critical element in fighting hunger and poverty. He believes that food affordability and human dignity must be prioritized for genuine progress.

“At ang tunay na pagkakaisa ay nagsisimula sa pakikinig,” he said, highlighting that real unity begins with listening. Pangilinan’s message reminded everyone that hunger transcends political colors and that solutions should be inclusive and urgent: “Walang kulay ang gutom. Walang kulay ang solusyon. Walang hinihintay ang awa.”

Accepting the Mandate with Humility and Resolve

Pangilinan humbly accepted the people’s mandate to serve once again in the Senate. He reflected on the challenges Filipinos currently face, such as rising prices, widespread hunger, and deepening divisions.

“Sa gitna ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo, malawakang gutom, at lalong lumalalim na pagkakawatak-watak, pinili ninyo ang landas ng malasakit, pagkakaisa, at konkretong pagkilos,” he remarked, noting that the people chose empathy, unity, and concrete action despite these hardships.

He further emphasized the power of the people in shaping the future: “Walang puwersang pulitikal na hihigit pa sa taumbayan na tumataya, kumikilos, at naninindigan tungo sa isang layunin. At napatunayan natin muli ito sa ating tagumpay.”

Through his message, Pangilinan called for continued solidarity and commitment to uplifting the lives of farmers, workers, and parents — the pillars of the nation’s strength and hope.
