Korean Stars Celebrate Good Boy Premiere
BANGKOK – Korean stars Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, and Lee Sang-yi sparked excitement at the global premiere of their new Korean series, Good Boy, held in Bangkok, Thailand. The event, hosted by Prime Video on May 31 at IconSiam mall’s Icon Cineconic, featured the actors walking the blue carpet, engaging with fans, and attending a press conference.
Good Boy, which debuted on Prime Video on the same day, blends action and comedy. The series centers on former medal-winning athletes who become police officers to battle crime. Actors Embrace Roles Through Intense Training
In Good Boy, Park Bo-gum portrays a former boxing medalist, Kim So-hyun plays a shooter, and Lee Sang-yi takes on the role of a fencer. Together with fellow ex-athletes Heo Sung-tae and Tae Won-seok, they form a special police team investigating a hit-and-run case while confronting dark forces in their city.
To prepare, the actors underwent rigorous training in their respective sports for six months. Park Bo-gum shared, “As an ex-boxer, I trained two hours daily including weight training.” Meanwhile, Kim So-hyun said, “I tried to follow the coaches’ instructions closely to develop natural posture and accurate scoring.” Lee Sang-yi added, “I trained for over six months and focused on baton action scenes for my police officer role.” The intense preparation paid off, as the first episode showcased gripping action sequences.
Their Sporting Aspirations
When asked about sports they’d like to try, Park Bo-gum expressed interest in archery, saying he supports Korea’s archery future and wants to train with the team. Kim So-hyun is curious about pistol shooting, despite her role involving rifle shooting. Lee Sang-yi hopes to try a triathlon to test his stamina.
Reunion Brings Warm Chemistry
Good Boy reunited Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun after a decade, having last worked together as emcees at the 2015 KBS Drama Awards. Park Bo-gum expressed gratitude for Kim So-hyun’s strong performance, which helped him focus on his own character’s emotions. Kim So-hyun echoed the sentiment, calling their reunion a special experience for them and their fans.
The trio praised their great chemistry on and off the set. Park Bo-gum highlighted how Korean dramas on OTT platforms attract curious viewers globally and motivate many to study the Korean language.
