Laguna eatery shooting kills infant, wounds two others
An 11-month-old infant was tragically killed, and two others were wounded after two unidentified gunmen opened fire at an eatery in Laguna, sources confirmed. The shocking Laguna eatery shooting happened at around 7:44 p.m. last Friday in Barangay Gregorio, San Pablo City.
According to witnesses, while the victims were dining inside a paresan, one suspect suddenly entered and fired multiple shots without any clear motive. A 37-year-old female helper who witnessed the attack recounted the frightening event.
Attack details and victims’ conditions
The gunman quickly fled the scene on a motorcycle driven by a second suspect, heading toward Maharlika Highway while carrying the firearm used in the shooting. Both suspects wore black jackets and pants; the rider also wore a black helmet.
The infant sustained a gunshot wound to the left mid-axillary line, with the bullet exiting through the right scapular area. A 30-year-old female pares vendor was hit in the right shoulder and arm, and a 56-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg.
All victims were rushed to the Laguna Provincial Hospital for immediate medical attention. Sadly, the infant was declared dead upon arrival by hospital staff.
Authorities’ response and ongoing investigation
Police have launched a dragnet operation to track down the suspects. They are examining closed-circuit television footage and interviewing witnesses to piece together more information about the shooting.
