Laguna Police Nab High-Value Drug Trafficker
In a decisive buy-bust operation on July 3, police anti-narcotics officers arrested a high-value drug trafficker in Siniloan town, Laguna. The arrest and seizure of illegal drugs worth over P5.5 million highlight the continued fight against drug trafficking in the province.
Colonel Ricardo Dalmacia, the Laguna police chief, reported that the suspect, only known by the alias “Jr,” was caught at 9:55 a.m. in Barangay Wawa. The arrest followed a drug sale where “Jr” sold P14,000 worth of shabu to an undercover agent. This operation illustrates the police’s commitment to targeting high-value individuals involved in the drug trade.
Seizure Details and Investigation
Authorities confiscated eight knot-tied plastic packs and two heat-sealed sachets containing a total of 810 grams of suspected shabu. Along with the drugs, a digital weighing scale was also seized. Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s valuation of P6,800 per gram, the total value of the drugs is estimated at P5,508,000.
Police are actively investigating the source of the illegal substances to dismantle the larger network behind the trafficking. “Jr” is listed as a high-value individual (HVI) on the police drug watchlist, a label reserved for key players such as financiers, manufacturers, traffickers, and syndicate members.
Police Vow to Intensify Anti-Drug Campaign
Colonel Dalmacia praised the Siniloan police for their effective operation. He emphasized the intensified campaign of the Laguna police force to rid the community of illegal drugs and protect its citizens. “The intensified campaign of the Laguna PNP against illegal drugs aims to cleanse the community and ensure the safety of every citizen,” he stated.
He also issued a stern warning to those involved in the drug trade: “We will hunt you down.” The suspect remains in police custody and faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
