KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato — A landslide damaged three houses in Barangay Ilomavis, local sources said. Thankfully, no injuries were reported after the incident.
The city disaster risk reduction and management officials confirmed the landslide blocked the road connecting Ilomavis and nearby villages to Kidapawan City’s center. This disruption affected daily travel and emergency response routes.
Heavy Rains Flatten Banana Fields and Cause More Damage
Strong winds combined with continuous heavy rains flattened wide areas of banana plantations in the area. This natural disaster has severely impacted local farmers and their livelihoods.
In nearby Tulunan town, a house and a covered court also sustained damage from landslides in Barangay Kanibong, while old trees uprooted by the storm blocked roads in Barangay Malasila of Makilala town, local leaders noted.
