Las Pinas Distributes Unclaimed Financial Aid to Senior Citizens
The city government of Las Pinas recently completed the distribution of unclaimed financial aid to senior citizens whose birthdays fall in February and March. This initiative provided assistance to 39 beneficiaries, each receiving P10,000, in a program aimed at supporting elderly residents.
Mayor Supervises Aid Distribution
Newly elected Mayor April Aguilar personally oversaw the smooth payout on May 20 at the Las Pinas Café, located within the City Hall grounds. The event also saw the presence of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) head and representatives from the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), ensuring an organized and fair process.
Focused Support for Milestone Ages
The financial aid program specifically targeted senior citizens reaching milestone ages such as 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old. “This program is our way of honoring octogenarians and nonagenarians who have contributed so much to our community,” said local officials familiar with the event.
Mayor Aguilar expressed her heartfelt thanks to the seniors, saying, “Salamat po sa inyong mga ambag at pagmamahal sa ating lungsod. Patuloy po kaming magsusumikap na paglingkuran kayo nang buong puso.”
Continued Commitment to Senior Welfare
According to community leaders, this initiative reflects the city government’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of senior citizens. By recognizing their unique needs and providing timely financial support, Las Pinas aims to uplift its elderly population continuously.
