Robredo Calls for Dignity in Voting
Former Vice President Leni Robredo appealed to Naga City voters to uphold their dignity by rejecting candidates who offer money in exchange for votes. “Manteneron ta an dignidad kan botanteng Nagueño. Dai iboto an sisay man na magtao nin kuwarta,” she emphasized, reminding voters not to be swayed by vote-buying.
She further stated, “Siring kan dati, an kuwarta sa bulsa, an boto, sa balota,” meaning money belongs in the pocket while the vote should be sacred and cast freely in the ballot box.
Upcoming Miting de Avance and Election Details
Robredo is set to lead the Miting de Avance for her local slate, An Bagong Team Naga, on May 10. She will be joined by notable Senate candidates including former Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino. Also supporting the slate is the ML party-list, led by former Senator Leila de Lima.
Meanwhile, other contenders for the Naga City mayoral seat include independents Ganda Abrazado, Restituto De Quiros, and Louie Ortega. With the election scheduled on May 12, voters are reminded to choose leaders who respect the democratic process.
Protecting the Vote Amid Eleksyon 2025
As election day approaches, the call to reject vote-buying resonates strongly. It is crucial for voters to remember that their power lies in their ballot, not in temporary monetary gain. Upholding this principle will help preserve the integrity of the city’s political future.
