QUEZON CITY — A strict liquor ban will be enforced in Quezon City from 12:01 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, in connection with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).
According to local leaders, this liquor ban aims to maintain peace and order during the significant national event. The city government cited Executive Order No. 9, Series of 2025, signed by Mayor Joy Belmonte, to implement this measure.
“Ito ay upang matiyak ang kapayapaan at seguridad sa lungsod sa darating na State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” the city government stated in a public advisory.

President Marcos is scheduled to deliver his fourth annual address at the Batasang Pambansa, located in Quezon City, before a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives. This event marks the official opening of the 20th Congress.
To secure the occasion, the Philippine National Police will deploy nearly 12,000 officers throughout the city. Their presence aims to ensure the safety of attendees and residents alike during the SONA activities.
