Low-Pressure Area Brings Heavy Rains in Ilocos Region
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area inside the Philippine area of responsibility is expected to bring steady rains to the Ilocos Region and Zambales province until Friday morning, local weather sources said.
As of 3 p.m. Thursday, the low-pressure area was detected over the coastal waters near San Fernando City, La Union. Weather authorities noted this system could cause heavy rainfall in affected areas starting this afternoon and continuing through tomorrow morning.

A weather specialist explained, “This will bring heavy rains over Ilocos Region as well as the Zambales area this afternoon until tomorrow morning.” The low-pressure area currently has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
