Low-Pressure Area Inside PAR Develops Into Tropical Depression Crising
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported early Wednesday that a low-pressure area inside PAR has intensified into a tropical depression named Crising. This development signals active weather conditions that could affect parts of the Philippines in the coming days.
Currently, the tropical depression is positioned about 780 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. It is moving westward at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour, bringing with it sustained winds reaching 45 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 50 kilometers per hour.
Crising Marks Third Tropical Cyclone in 2025
Crising is the third tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this year and the second to develop in July. This aligns with Pagasa’s earlier forecast that the country may encounter two to three tropical cyclones this month.
Local weather experts remind residents to stay vigilant and monitor official updates, especially those living in coastal and low-lying areas prone to flooding and strong winds. Preparations and precautionary measures should be taken seriously to minimize potential damage.
