Low-Pressure Area Inside PAR Shows High Cyclone Potential
The low-pressure area inside PAR has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within 24 hours, sources said. This weather disturbance is currently positioned 975 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon, signaling potential storm development.
Weather experts warn that if this low-pressure area inside PAR strengthens, it will be named “Crising,” marking the third tropical cyclone for 2025 and the second in July. This forecast underscores the need for heightened vigilance across affected regions.
Rain Showers Expected Across Several Regions
The weather disturbance is anticipated to bring rain showers to the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte later today. Citizens in these areas should prepare for wet conditions and possible localized flooding.
Southwest Monsoon Brings Widespread Rainfall
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon, known locally as habagat, is forecast to cause generally cloudy skies with a high chance of rain in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and the Mimaropa region, which includes Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will also experience similar weather patterns.
“The sky will be cloudy and there is a high chance of rain in most parts of the country due to the LPA and the southwest monsoon,” local meteorologists noted. They also advised residents to carry umbrellas or raincoats when going outdoors.
