A low pressure area (LPA) is set to drench parts of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms within the next 24 hours, PAGASA warned Sunday afternoon.
As of 3 p.m., the LPA was located 270 kilometers west-northwest of Cuyo, Palawan, and 140 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan.
The state weather bureau flagged MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Northern Samar, Samar, and Biliran as the areas most likely to experience moderate to heavy rains. These intense downpours raise the risk of flash floods and landslides, posing dangers to local communities.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country will mainly see partly cloudy to cloudy skies. However, isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms can still be expected due to easterly winds.
These sudden, severe thunderstorms also carry the threat of flash floods and landslides in vulnerable locations.
Winds will generally blow from light to moderate strength, with coastal waters remaining slight to moderate nationwide.
For those in Metro Manila, Monday’s sunrise is expected at 5:32 a.m., signaling the start of a day marked by shifting weather conditions. Stay alert and prepared as nature unleashes its unpredictable mood.
