LTO Calabarzon Summons Driver After Deadly San Pablo Crash
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Calabarzon has called the driver of an Ankai passenger bus involved in a fatal road crash in San Pablo City, Laguna, early Saturday morning. The agency aims to investigate the incident that tragically claimed three lives.
According to a police report cited by LTO, the Ankai passenger bus collided with a Mitsubishi Montero at the intersection of Maharlika Highway Corner 7 Up Road and Soledad Santisimo Road in Barangay San Francisco. The crash resulted in the deaths of three Montero passengers, while the driver and other occupants suffered serious injuries.
Driver Faces Reckless Driving Charges
LTO Calabarzon regional director Elmer Decena emphasized the importance of accountability, stating the bus driver must appear before the agency. “He must explain why his license should not be revoked for reckless driving and for posing a danger to public safety,” Decena said.
He added that the driver must also clarify why he should not be deemed unfit to operate a motor vehicle. “This is part of our mandate to hold accountable those who endanger lives on the road,” Decena noted. The LTO is committed to ensuring safer roads by enforcing strict measures against reckless drivers.
