LTO Plate Distribution Caravan Scheduled at SM North Edsa
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will hold a plate distribution caravan on Friday, August 8, at SM North Edsa in Quezon City. This event is aimed at motorcycle owners who have yet to receive their license plates.
The LTO announced through a social media advisory that the caravan will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held at the 5th-floor motorcycle parking area of the mall. This effort forms part of the agency’s broader push to expand the reach of license plate distribution across the country.
Requirements for Motorcycle Owners Attending the Caravan
Motorcycle owners planning to participate in the caravan must bring specific documents to facilitate the processing of their license plates. These include the original and a photocopy of the Official Receipt or Certificate of Registration, a valid ID of the registered owner, and a Deed of Sale if the motorcycle is not yet registered under the current owner’s name.
The LTO emphasized that the caravan will exclusively process motorcycle license plates, so owners of other vehicles should seek different channels for their plate issuance.
Clearing the Motorcycle Plate Backlog
Earlier this year, government officials disclosed that the country has resolved a decade-long backlog of motorcycle license plates. This milestone came after 11 years of accumulated delays, marking a significant improvement in vehicle registration services nationwide.
Local leaders noted that initiatives like the LTO plate distribution caravan demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving motorist services and easing the challenges faced by motorcycle owners.
