LTO Plate Distribution Caravan Set for September
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced the schedule for its Plate Distribution Caravan for motorcycles this September. Motorcycle owners who have yet to receive their plates from 2014 to 2017 are urged to attend the designated events. This initiative aims to expedite the delivery of motorcycle plates nationwide.
September Dates and Locations for Motorcycle Plate Distribution
Motorcycle owners can claim their plates at these dates and venues:
- September 2, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Robinsons Manila
- September 6, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., SM City BF Parañaque
- September 9, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Robinsons Malabon
- September 12, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Robinsons Metro East
- September 13, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Robinsons Las Piñas
- September 27, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Robinsons Galleria
Requirements for Plate Claiming
According to officials, motorcycle owners must bring the original and a photocopy of the official receipt and certificate of registration. A valid ID of the registered owner is also required. If the motorcycle is not yet registered under the current owner, a deed of sale must be presented. These documents are essential to ensure smooth processing during the Plate Distribution Caravan.
Purpose and Government Support
Authorities emphasized that the caravan will focus exclusively on distributing motorcycle plates. This effort aligns with directives from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon to accelerate plate distribution to the public. Local leaders highlighted that under the guidance of LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, the agency is expanding coverage to reach more regions.
Clearing Backlogs and Future Plans
Earlier this year, transportation officials reported that the government successfully cleared an 11-year backlog of motorcycle license plates. The Department of Transportation also announced plans to distribute a total of 5.4 million motorcycle plates by October 2025. This major milestone is expected to benefit millions of motorcycle owners across the country.
