Makati City Police Officer and Security Guard Wounded in Shooting
A police officer and a security guard were wounded after a shooting incident involving two unidentified male suspects in Makati City on Friday night, local authorities said. The attack happened while the police officer was having his car washed in Barangay San Isidro.
The Makati City Police Station reported that the suspects, wearing blue and black long-sleeve shirts, black half-face helmets, and jeans, approached the officer near the corner of Edison and Faraday Streets. They attempted to snatch his necklace but failed, prompting the officer to run and draw his firearm. The suspects fired several shots at him, hitting both the officer and a nearby security guard.
Details of the Incident
According to police, one of the suspects forcefully took the officer’s necklace and firearm while he was on the ground. The two then fled the scene riding an unidentified motorcycle toward Edison Street. CCTV footage is currently being reviewed, and witnesses are being interviewed to aid in the investigation.
Both victims were reported to be in stable condition following the shooting. The police officer is assigned to the Police Regional Office Calabarzon Highway Patrol Group, authorities noted.
