Malabon City Gears Up for Classes
Malabon City is actively preparing for the opening of face-to-face classes on June 16. Local officials, led by Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and the Schools Division Office headed by Dr. Cecil Carandang, launched the city’s school readiness campaign to ensure a smooth start for students.
The program kicked off with a motorcade from Potrero Elementary School to Epifanio Delos Santos Elementary School, marking the beginning of efforts to ready all schools across the city. This school readiness initiative brings together various sectors to get classrooms in top shape for the upcoming term.
Community Unites for School Readiness
According to local leaders, the campaign included donations from Brigada Eskwela partners, a story reading session led by Mayor Sandoval, the “Brigada Bayanihan in Action” program, booth exhibits, and recognition ceremonies for students who excelled in national events like the National Schools Press Conference and Palarong Pambansa.
“Ready na po ang ating mga paaralan para i-welcome a ang mga mag-aaral sa dadating na pasukan. Ito po ay dahil sa pagtutulungan nating mga Malabueño – mga magulang, volunteers, at empleyado ng pamahalaang lungsod upang linisin ang bawat silid at masigurong maayos at maaliwalas ang mga ito para sa mga kabataan. Tayo po ay magkaisa para sa ating maibigay ang dekalidad na edukasyon para sa mahal nating mga mag-aaral,” the mayor said.
She also encouraged students, saying, “To our dear students in Malabon, continue to give your best, and show diligence and dedication in your studies. These are the keys that will lead you to success in life.”
Brigada Eskwela Drives School Improvement
Brigada Eskwela, a nationwide program, mobilizes education stakeholders to clean, repair, and prepare public schools ahead of class openings. In Malabon, all 42 public schools actively participated, with parents, volunteers, and various community groups pitching in.
The campaign saw student-athletes, city government workers, and uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces, police, fire protection, and jail management services joining hands with civic foundations. Their combined efforts focused on cleaning classrooms and upgrading school facilities to create a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for learners.
This collective spirit reflects Malabon’s commitment to quality education and community involvement, ensuring every student begins the school year in a conducive setting.
