Two Men Arrested for Attempted Robbery in Malabon
Two men were apprehended by Malabon City police after attempting to rob and seriously injure an Indian businessman inside his home in Barangay Tugatog. The suspects, both residents of Barangay Maysilo, were identified as a 25-year-old and a 32-year-old male.
Incident Details and Police Response
According to reports, the suspects entered the victim’s house with the intention to rob him. However, the businessman discovered them, which led the suspects to violently attack him. The victim was immediately rushed to Manila Central University Hospital in Caloocan City for urgent medical treatment.
Following the assault, the robbers fled the scene without taking any valuables. They then boarded an e-tricycle heading toward Yanga Street in Barangay Maysilo. Authorities tracked their movements and arrested them shortly afterward.
Items Recovered and Previous Records
Police confiscated a motorcycle, two helmets, and two live ammunition rounds from the suspects. Further investigation revealed that both had prior arrests for various offenses, including robbery, physical injury, and illegal gambling.
Charges and Legal Actions
The arrested suspects will face charges of attempted robbery and frustrated homicide. These charges are filed under Republic Act 11235, specifically Section 9, known as the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, according to police sources.
