Malacañang Declares Special Non-Working Day for July 25
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has officially declared July 25 as a special non-working day in two Philippine communities. This decision aims to honor local traditions and cultural celebrations in Compostela town, Cebu province, and Santiago City, Isabela province.
Under Proclamation No. 975, residents of Compostela, Cebu, will observe a special non-working day to mark their annual town fiesta. This enables the community to participate fully in festivities and cultural events tied to their local heritage.
Special Non-Working Day in Santiago City
Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 976 designates the same date for Santiago City in Isabela. The special non-working day allows locals to commemorate Aggaw na Naturales Day, an important cultural observance unique to the area. This event highlights the community’s rich traditions and strengthens local identity.
Both proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on July 17, according to sources familiar with the matter. Local leaders noted that these special non-working days provide an opportunity for residents to celebrate their culture and foster unity.
