Man Arrested for Posing as Police Officer in Taguig City
A man was apprehended in Taguig City for allegedly posing as a police officer and threatening a woman, local authorities reported. The incident occurred along C5 Service Road in Barangay East Rembo on Monday night.
The Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed that the arrest followed a complaint from the woman who claimed she was intimidated by a man identifying himself as a police officer. “The woman claimed that she had been threatened by a man who introduced himself as a police officer,” the SPD said.
Upon approaching the suspect, officers noticed he wore a black jacket with the Philippine National Police (PNP) logo. However, when questioned, the man failed to present any valid PNP identification.
Details of the Arrest and Confiscated Items
The suspect was identified as Hans, a 32-year-old unemployed resident of West Rembo. During the arrest, authorities seized two two-way radios, a loaded .45 caliber pistol, and a heat-sealed sachet containing approximately 2 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth ₱13,600.
Charges and Next Steps
Hans is currently detained under the custody of Taguig police. He faces complaints for usurpation of authority, violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act 9165), and breach of the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (Republic Act 10591).
The confiscated drugs have been sent to the SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory analysis. Authorities continue their investigation to ensure the case proceeds accordingly.
