Man Arrested for Sextortion in Quezon
GENERAL NAKAR, Quezon – A 19-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, May 20, for attempting to extort money from an 18-year-old woman in exchange for not sharing her alleged sex videos online. Authorities say the suspect demanded P5,000 from the victim to keep the compromising materials private.
According to reports, the suspect, identified only as Jade, sent numerous messages threatening to post the explicit videos on social media platforms. The victim, Neca, received several messages along with nude pictures and videos as proof that the suspect had possession of such content.
Police Conduct Entrapment Operation
Following the victim’s complaint, local police carried out an entrapment operation. The suspect was caught while receiving the money through a popular mobile payment service. During the arrest, authorities recovered five P1,000 bills and a cellphone from the suspect.
The man now faces charges related to cybercrime and robbery-extortion. He remains in the custody of local law enforcement as the investigation continues.
