Man of the World 2024 Sergio Azuaga’s Journey in the Philippines
Reigning Man of the World 2024 Sergio Azuaga from Venezuela has embraced the Philippines as his temporary home, sharing his excitement during a recent interview at a photo shoot for a local shoe designer in Manila. The four-word keyphrase “Man of the World 2024” captures the essence of his current journey as he balances his international title with new cultural experiences.
Sergio revealed his plans to learn Tagalog, expressing genuine enthusiasm for the language but also emphasizing that he wants to enjoy the process. “I want to learn Tagalog. I won’t do something I don’t enjoy. There are so many possibilities. When I joined Man of the World, I didn’t imagine I would be here with you. So who knows what will happen next year? It’s a surprise,” he said.
Known for his love of dancing, Sergio admitted he has yet to try singing, though he noted the popularity of karaoke among Filipinos. This openness to new experiences reflects his broader mindset during his reign.
Passing the Crown and Future Aspirations
Winning the Man of the World 2024 title has opened many doors for Sergio, but he feels ready to hand over the crown when his reign ends on May 31, 2025. He shared his thoughts on the qualities he hopes the next winner will possess.
“I’m nobody to judge anybody. However, if I can describe the characteristics, I want the next Man of the World to be someone who can connect with the people. That’s one of the things I do during my reign: communicating with the people. Be yourself and make a good connection with the people,” Sergio explained.
While proud of his international title, he also looks forward to exploring new projects beyond pageantry. “It’s an honor to be Man of the World. Having an international title is incredible! But it’s time for me to move to other projects and try different things. I don’t want to get stuck with the same thing that I did last year. I want to show people that I can do other things aside from pageant.”
He also revealed that Man of the World will mark the end of his pageant career, expressing optimism for what lies ahead: “Man of the World is a great experience, and I fell in love with the pageant. But Man of the World is the end of my pageant career. So you will see many good things in the future.”

I enjoy being with people. However, my most important responsibility (as Man of the World) is to uphold the values,” he shared.
During the photo shoot, Sergio showcased various stylish shoes, including elevator shoes and sneakers, highlighting his role as a model and ambassador.
