Man Arrested for Carrying P680,000 Worth Shabu in Antipolo City
Authorities seized P680,000 worth of shabu from a man who raised suspicion while walking around Antipolo City. The incident happened early Sunday morning, May 18, when police noticed the individual carrying a helmet and acting unusually.
The suspect, identified only as “Pablo,” 40 years old, is considered a high-value individual by local law enforcement. Officers apprehended him during a patrol near F. Manalo Street in Barangay San Roque at around 4 a.m.
Suspicious Behavior Leads to Arrest
Police observed Pablo walking with a helmet, a behavior that caught their attention. When they questioned him about his destination, he suddenly fled and discarded a black belt bag.
Two officers immediately pursued him, resulting in his capture shortly after. Upon inspecting the bag, authorities found approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu along with a digital weighing scale.
Charges and Police Appeal
Pablo is now in police custody and faces charges for violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, which covers illegal drug offenses. Local sources emphasize the importance of community cooperation in the fight against drugs.
The Antipolo police urged the public: “Makipagtulungan tayo laban sa illegal na droga. Kung may nalalaman, isumbong agad,” encouraging everyone to report any information about illegal drug activities immediately.
