Kevin Dasom on Manhunt International 2024 Experience
Kevin Dasom from Thailand is thriving in his role as Manhunt International 2024, embracing the changes that come with his title. Despite being single and avoiding the nightlife scene, Kevin finds joy in his new responsibilities and lifestyle.
During a recent interview in Quezon City, Kevin shared, “I do not do the nightlife. No matter what country you go to, nightlife is all the same. I enjoy early nights and spending time at home, just watching Netflix or enjoying some alone time.” His preference for quiet evenings highlights a different side of the pageant world often unseen by the public.
Sacrifices and Lifestyle Changes of Manhunt International 2024
Kevin explained that becoming a pageant king involves significant sacrifices. “Once you become a pageant king, your life has changed, and there are a lot of sacrifices you have to make. If you can make it work, congratulations! If not, make it work. It’s a trade-off,” he said.
He also emphasized his commitment to his faith, stating, “I belong to Jesus.” While he doesn’t smoke and avoids social drinking, Kevin enjoys a cold beer or wine with good food whenever his schedule permits. However, he admits that his busy agenda rarely allows long nights out.
Exciting Career Moves and Language Learning
Looking ahead, Kevin is enthusiastic about his budding movie career in Manila, having signed with a major talent agency. “It’s awesome! I just got my schedule for May and June. I can’t say one is better than the other, but the entire journey has been exciting,” he shared.
He is committed to learning Tagalog, dedicating two hours daily to language lessons after his taping schedule ends in June. Kevin has secured a long-term contract with prominent local agencies, signaling a promising future in Philippine entertainment.
Addressing Misconceptions About Male Pageants
Kevin took a firm stance against common misunderstandings about male beauty contests. “A lot of people look at it as eye candy. Many people say a lot of things on social media. But for me, the most important thing when you join male pageantry is your body. You have to pass the eye test.”
He stressed that physical appearance is just the start. “If you want to join pageants, you have to work on yourself first: your mind, heart, your body, and what you want to give to pageantry.”
Kevin also dismissed rumors of unethical practices during pageants. “That’s rubbish! If that was the case, then there’s no credibility in the pageant. In two international pageants I’ve attended, I’ve never seen this. Outsiders don’t know what’s happening inside the pageant. In my opinion, judges know who should win,” he explained.
Personal Journey and Future Aspirations
Kevin has been visiting the Philippines since 2018 and feels a strong connection to the country. “I’ve always loved returning to the Philippines because it feels like home. The warm and kind people that I have worked with.”
Reflecting on his youth, Kevin admitted he never saw himself as handsome. “I was ugly growing up. I was chubby with curly hair. I had scars all over my face. I was never really considered handsome. I’m a late bloomer.”
He credits his healthy lifestyle for his current appearance and strength. “I work out and eat healthy food not to look good but to feel good. I want to be strong. Looking good is a result of taking care of yourself.”
At nearly 33, Kevin is ready to focus on new goals, including mentoring future pageant hopefuls. “I want to give back to the next generation of candidates by providing them with training,” he said.
Finally, Kevin shared his biggest dream: a Hollywood career. “When setting goals or dreams, it is essential to dream as big as you can. Otherwise, why call it dreams or goals? Others call it unrealistic, but to me, that’s good.”
