Manila City mayoral race heats up

Former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno is currently leading the race for the Manila City mayoral seat in the 2025 midterm elections. As of 9:30 p.m., Moreno has secured 406,815 votes, putting him well ahead of his rivals.

Meanwhile, incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna follows in second place with 146,328 votes. Close behind her is Sam Verzosa, who has gathered 126,369 votes so far.

Vote count and voter turnout update

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has processed 712,611 votes out of the 1,142,174 registered voters in Manila City. This means about 77.48% of voters have already cast their ballots and had their votes counted.

As the counting continues, these numbers may still change, but for now, Moreno holds a strong lead in this highly contested mayoral race.
