Manila Water Expands Domestic Water Service Connections Rapidly

Manila Water Boosts Domestic Water Service Connections

Manila Water has made remarkable progress in expanding its domestic water service connections, successfully installing 10,308 new residential connections in the first half of 2025. This achievement places the company at 75.59% of its annual domestic connection target, highlighting its strong commitment to improving water accessibility in the East Zone.

As of June 30, the total domestic water service connections reached 1,146,126. Including commercial and industrial accounts, the overall water service connections now total 1,205,153. Officials reported that this growth reflects sustained efforts to bring clean and reliable water to more households and businesses.

Robust Infrastructure Supports Service Expansion

The expansion of domestic water service connections is supported by an extensive infrastructure network. Community leaders noted that Manila Water maintains over 5,593 kilometers of pipelines throughout its concession area. This vast distribution system ensures customers enjoy a 24-hour reliable water supply, reinforcing the company’s dedication to dependable service delivery.

“Our continued expansion and infrastructure investments are aligned with our Service Improvement Plan and the MWSS objectives. We remain focused on delivering safe, sustainable, and resilient water services to the communities we serve,” said Jeric Sevilla, Communication Affairs Group Director.

Commitment to Quality and Regulatory Compliance

Manila Water consistently meets the stringent Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW) across its distribution network. Local authorities confirmed that the company also guarantees round-the-clock water service throughout the East Zone concession area, ensuring customers receive safe and clean water at all times.

Expanding Sewer Services for Better Sanitation

In addition to water service growth, Manila Water is expanding its sewer services, now serving 311,663 connections. Community members reported the addition of 550 accounts in June 2025 alone. The sewer systems include separate, combined, and hybrid types, along with private sewage treatment plants, all contributing to effective wastewater management in the region.

Supporting Urban Development and Health Security

These achievements underscore Manila Water’s dedication to inclusive access to clean water and sanitation. Officials emphasized the company’s role in supporting urban growth and enhancing long-term water and health security for residents of Metro Manila and Rizal Province.
