Manila Water Infratech Solutions Leads Water Infrastructure
Marking its third year of operations, Manila Water Infratech Solutions (MWIS), the Manila Water Non-East Zone operating unit, has become a transformative force in the water and wastewater infrastructure sector. From Luzon to Mindanao, the company has led numerous projects that deliver clean water, efficient wastewater treatment, and resilient infrastructure to millions of Filipinos.
Established in 2022 through the strategic merger of Manila Water Technical Ventures and Manila Water Total Solutions, MWIS quickly gained recognition for excellence in consulting, network design, project management, and construction oversight. Local leaders noted that its comprehensive approach has significantly advanced water services nationwide.
Landmark Projects Across the Philippines
Among MWIS’s notable achievements is the Alviera Estate Sewage Treatment Plant in Porac, Pampanga, boasting a 9 million liters per day (MLD) capacity. Officials reported that the Laguna Technopark STP and Septage facility in Biñan, Laguna handle 11 MLD and 70 cubic meters per day, respectively, further highlighting MWIS’s impact in Luzon.
In the Visayas and Mindanao regions, community members noted the completion of the 10-MLD Cebu IT Park STP, the Tagum Artificial Recharge project in Davao del Norte, and the Anflo Industrial Estate Compact Water Treatment Plant in Panabo, which treats 2,300 cubic meters daily. These projects demonstrate MWIS’s commitment to expanding access to reliable water infrastructure nationwide.
Enhancing Urban Water Resilience in Metro Manila
MWIS has also played a critical role in strengthening urban water resilience in Metro Manila. Projects such as the 20-MLD Bonifacio Water Corporation BNR Upgrade in Taguig and the 1-MLD One Ayala WWTP in Makati have improved wastewater management. Emergency reservoir installations in Quezon City, San Juan, Cainta, and Antipolo further bolster water security for urban communities.
Moreover, sustainable solutions have reached key tourist destinations. The upgrade of the Balabag Package STP capacity to 2 MLD in Boracay Island exemplifies MWIS’s dedication to protecting the environment while supporting local economies.
Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Water Management
Demonstrating its innovative drive, MWIS delivered the CSE Matang Tubig Bulk Water Supply Project in Laguna, featuring a 17-MLD treatment capacity and a 13-kilometer pipeline network. According to officials, the company’s flagship product, the iTech Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant, is operational in Calbayog Water’s first residential Septage Treatment Facility, airport wastewater systems, and several prominent quick service restaurant chains across the country.
These compact, high-efficiency systems set new standards in environmental protection, scalability, and smart water management. Local engineers emphasized the technology’s role in advancing sustainable infrastructure development nationwide.
Commitment to Sustainability and ESG Standards
This year, MWIS completed its first baseline Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessment through the Synesgy platform by CRIF Philippines, earning a “C – Satisfactory” rating. The evaluation aligns MWIS with global sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Experts noted this milestone underscores the company’s dedication to responsible infrastructure growth.
“Every project we complete is a reflection of our purpose: to serve communities, protect the environment, and contribute to a more resilient Philippines,” said Engr. Jose Paolo Serias, General Manager of MWIS.
Delivering Excellence Across Every Phase
From initial concept to final completion, MWIS ensures every project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the highest quality standards. Powered by advanced equipment and a skilled team of professionals, the company continues to protect natural resources, uplift communities, and shape the future of water infrastructure in the Philippines.
As MWIS celebrates another year of success, community members and officials alike recognize its vital role in transforming the country’s water and wastewater landscape.
