Marcos appoints 2 Mindanaoans as CA justices

President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Edilwasif Tapsiril Baddiri and Jeoffre Willkom Acebido as Associate Justices of the Court of Appeals (CA).

The latest designations were confirmed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Wednesday. 

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo administered the oaths of office in separate ceremonies at the Supreme Court in Manila: Justice Baddiri on April 11 at the Session Hall and Justice Acebido on April 14 at the Dignitaries’ Lounge.

According to the Supreme Court, Baddiri filled the post vacated by retired CA Justice Edwin Sorongon. Before joining the CA, Baddiri served as Presiding Judge of Branch 115, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Pasay City from 2015 to 2023, then as Executive Judge of the RTC, Pasay City.

Acebido, meanwhile, held the post of Presiding Judge of Branch 41, RTC, Cagayan de Oro before his appointment to the CA. He served the bench for 16 years as RTC judge.
