Criminology Student Arrested in Marikina City
In Marikina City, authorities arrested a criminology student for using a fake driver’s license while riding a motorcycle with an expired permit. This incident unfolded during a routine patrol along Mayor G. Fernando Avenue in Barangay San Roque.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported that the 26-year-old male suspect identified himself as a criminology undergraduate. He was seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt adorned with logos of the Philippine National Police and Special Weapons and Tactics.
Fake Driver’s License and Expired Motorcycle Permit
When officers requested proper documentation, the suspect presented a questionable driver’s license but failed to show any valid police identification. Upon opening his sling bag, authorities noticed a gun-like object, which was later confirmed as a replica firearm.
Further investigation revealed that the driver’s license was forged, the motorcycle registration had expired, and the suspect was not authorized to carry the replica firearm in public. Local sources said the suspect is now held at the Marikina City Police Station.
Pending Charges and Investigation
Officials have yet to disclose the specific charges the suspect will face. However, authorities continue to investigate the case to ensure proper legal actions are taken.
