Marikina City Drug Bust Yields P4.86 Million Marijuana Seizure
Authorities confiscated suspected marijuana valued at P4.86 million and arrested three individuals in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City early Tuesday morning, local sources said. The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) led the operation at a residence along Champaca Street in Marikina Heights.
During the raid, the police seized approximately 3,239 grams of marijuana kush and an additional 30 grams of dried marijuana leaves. The operation aimed to disrupt illegal drug trade activities in the area, targeting what police described as high-value suspects.
Suspects Identified and Detained
The arrested individuals were identified only by their first names: Ashley, 21; Jolly, 27; and Mark, 27. Authorities have tagged them as significant figures within the local drug network. Following their arrest, they were transferred to the National Capital Region Police Office–Special Operations Unit located in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
They now face charges for violations of the Dangerous Drugs Act, also known as Republic Act 9165. Meanwhile, the confiscated drugs were handed over to the PNP Forensic Group at Camp Crame in Quezon City for scientific examination and verification.
Ongoing Efforts Against Illegal Drugs in Marikina
